Some time before Sailor Galaxia reached the planet Mau, the planet's inhabitants lived placidly. Select ambassadors were chosen to become diplomats, guides, guardians and/or partners of selected sailor soldiers across the galaxy. As was with most sailor soldiers, Sailor Mau was her home planet's guardian. She protected the planet Mau ferociously and because of that, a good portion of the planet's populous heralded her as the planet's hero.
On the flip side of the coin, there was at least one of the planet's inhabitants who hated Sailor Mau with a passion. Her hatred simmered over the years due to the fact that by herself, she was no match for Sailor Mau. She felt overlooked for the position of the planet's sailor soldier that she had trained for for so long. She also felt that since her younger sister was Crown Princess that by all rights, she should be the sailor soldier. Her name was Suzu Nyanko.
After the departure of Luna and Artemis to the Sol System, a disembodied feminine voice called out to Suzu. The voice sympathized with the bristling Suzu and through some coaxing, Susu was convinced that the whole planet, especially Sailor Mau, was out to make her life a living hell. Any who dared to say otherwise became liars and those who left the planet for whatever reason became traitors in Suzu's eyes.
Her pent up rage went past the boiling point when she over heard Sailor Mau talking about negotiations with other planetary systems to boost relations. Not able to withstand it any longer, Suzu met up with Sailor Mau in a private meeting and abruptly killed the planet's guardian. The disembodied voice called out to Suzu to grab Sailor Mau's Starseed and just as she had done so, she was teleported to a throne room.
The owner of the voice that had communicated with Suzu sat within the shadows on the throne. The outfit she wore had a metallic sheen to it and Suzu would later find out that she was in the presence of Sailor Galaxia. Galaxia chortled before convincing Suzu to give up Sailor Mau's Starseed as well as her own under the pretense that if Suzu became one of Galaxia's minions, Galaxia would give Suzu a Starseed that would make her a 'true sailor soldier' with a planet to protect. Upon agreeing to Galaxia's terms, Suzu handed over her own Starseed as well as Sailor Mau's and a pair of bracelets formed around Suzu's wrists. A transformation occurred instantly turning Suzu into the Sailor Anima-Mate, Sailor Tin Nyanko.
Back on planet Mau, it didn't take long for the inhabitants to find out that Sailor Mau was dead, and that Suzu was missing. However, to add insult to injury, a dark and sinister force that was called the Dark Agency - a subsidiary of the Dark Kingdom - came and in amongst the chaos stole the Crown Princess away. In the confusion, it was believed that the princess died and shortly there after, the planet and its inhabitants was brought to ruin.
